Every FIGGI formula begins with a simple principle: ingredients should be selected because they contribute a defined cosmetic function within the finished formulation.
Rather than building products around marketing trends or lengthy lists of fashionable actives, we consider how ingredients work together as a complete system. Performance, skin compatibility, stability and the overall user experience are all part of the formulation process.
Just as importantly, we carefully consider what we choose to leave out. Ingredient selection is guided by current cosmetic science, the needs of sensitive skin and our commitment to creating balanced, evidence-led formulations.
Our philosophy is not about avoiding ingredients through fear. It is about understanding what each ingredient contributes, why it has been chosen and whether it supports the finished formula.
OUR STANDARDS
Selection before exclusion
Choosing ingredients is rarely as simple as deciding whether they are "good" or "bad". Cosmetic ingredients are selected for specific functions, including hydration, emulsification, preservation, texture, stability and skin conditioning. The quality of a finished formula depends on how these ingredients work together.
At FIGGI, we evaluate ingredients according to the available scientific evidence, their established cosmetic function, their compatibility with sensitive skin and the role they play within the complete formulation.
Some ingredients are intentionally excluded because they do not align with our formulation philosophy or the needs of sensitive skin—not because they are inherently unsafe. Equally, many ingredients that are often misunderstood remain valuable, well-studied and entirely appropriate when used correctly.
Our goal is to make informed formulation decisions based on evidence, transparency and thoughtful ingredient selection, rather than fear, trends or misinformation.
